Step 1

Getting a preliminary Quote.

We want to work with you! MN Stoneworks will supply you with a no-obligation quote that gives you the cost of your countertop project.
For your convenience, we offer 3 ways to receive your FREE estimate. Once we have your measurements, it will be ready within 24-48 hours.

Submit a Drawing: You may email or fax your project drawing to us. Your project drawing can be cabinet drawings, a whole house plan, or a simple birds-eye view of your surfaces. Be sure that in addition to the measurements of your surfaces, you also note any other specific details you desire (if known), such as backsplash, sink option, edge profile, and if tear-out is needed. An experienced team member will then contact you to discuss your project and answer any other questions you may have.

In-Office Estimate: We will gladly set up an appointment for you to bring your drawings or plans into our office where one of our experienced team members will meet with you to go over your project, discuss our service options, and answer any questions you may have.

In-Home Estimate: We will gladly set up an appointment in your home where one of our experienced team members will take accurate measurements of your surfaces, discuss our service options, and also answer any questions you may have.

Step 2

Finalize Details

Once you have decided to select MN Stoneworks as your stone fabricator, please promptly contact us to finalize details.

Step 3

Preparing for Template

To prepare for successful templating, please prepare by confirming all of the following steps have been taken before the measure tech arrives for the appointment:

Cabinets are installed and level
New cabinets must be structurally sound as well as the plumb, level, and secured to the wall and /or floor.
Cabinets must be level within 1/8-inch over 10 feet. For natural stone, overhangs over 12 inches require corbels or steel supports every 30 inches.
Existing countertops are clear
When measuring existing counters the entire surface must be cleared off to guarantee accurate measurements.
Sink is onsite
If you are supplying your sink it must be onsite for measuring. If MN Stoneworks is supplying it, we will bring it at the time of install.
If you are installing an undermount farmhouse/apron sink, it must be installed prior to measure.
Appliances are onsite
Includes cooktop/range, faucet, soap dispenser, etc.
Review project details
Please verify material color, edge detail, sink selection, and all measurements with your technician while he/she is onsite.

Step 4

Preparing for Installation

You will be contacted by MN Stoneworks to confirm an install date and time, normally next business day after template.

Installations usually take 3-4 hours and completed in one day. Large projects or projects including more than one area may take longer. To help ensure that the installation of your new countertop proceeds smoothly, your assistance with the following would be greatly appreciated:

Please remove all vehicles from the driveway providing free access for our installation van.
Please ensure outside walkways and or stairs are clear of all obstructions.
Please ensure all inside halls and stairs are clear of any obstructions providing free and clear access to the job site.
Please do not schedule any additional work by other tradespeople on the day of the countertop installation. Any plumbing, electrical or tile work required to complete the project should be scheduled subsequent to the countertop installation date. MN Stoneworks employees are not permitted to do any electrical or plumbing work.
Please feel free to cover floors with safe floor covering. Our crews will also use drop sheets to protect the floors but will not remove shoes when installing the countertops.
