Warranty

15 years on our fabrication and installation

If something we cut or installed fails because of how we did the work, we come back and fix it at no charge for 15 years from the install date. Below is what that covers and what it doesn’t.

1. What is covered

Defects in our own work, for 15 years from the install date:

Seams that open, separate or lose their fill.

Countertops, backsplashes or edge pieces that come loose because the adhesive we used failed.

Cracks caused by how we cut, supported or installed the stone.

Undermount sinks we attached that come loose from the countertop.

2. What we do

We look at the problem first, in person or from your photos. If it is covered, we repair it at no charge for parts and labor. If a repair will not hold, we replace the piece.

Natural stone is never identical from slab to slab, so a replacement piece may not match the original exactly. We get as close as the material allows.

3. What is not covered

The stone itself. Quartz and porcelain are covered by their maker’s own warranty (see below). Natural stone has fissures, pits, veining and color changes; these are part of the material, not defects.

Damage from use: heat, impact, chips, scratches, cutting on the surface, standing or sitting on the countertop or an overhang, or heavy loads.

Stains, etching and dull spots from acids or cleaners, and resealing natural stone, which is part of normal care.

Movement of cabinets, floors or the house, and anything built or changed under the countertop after install.

Plumbing, faucets, disposals and appliances.

Work that someone else changed or repaired.

4. Manufacturer warranties

Quartz and porcelain brands warrant their own material, separately from us. Some ask you to register that warranty after install. Ask us for the brand and color on your job and we will send them so you can register. Links to each maker are on the Suppliers page.

5. Who it covers

The owner of the home where we installed the countertop, for jobs paid in full. Builder, multi-unit and commercial jobs follow the warranty terms in the contract for that job.

6. How to make a claim

Call (253) 397-4785 or email contact@mnstoneworks.com with your name, the job address and photos of the problem. Tell us as soon as you notice it, so a small problem does not turn into a bigger one.

7. Your rights

This warranty does not limit any rights you have under Washington law.
